“when and where I enter, in the quiet, undisputed dignity of my womanhood, without violence and without suing or special patronage, then and there the whole...race enters with me”

Grant Guidelines

WWIE provides grants in the areas of economic development and education, health and sexual awareness, leadership development and cultural enrichment. Grant seekers must complete the attached application form and return it during the time specified by WWIE. Applications are considered during the period posted on the WWIE website. In general, applicants may expect the approval process to be completed in three months. In some instances, WWIE will require the grant seeking organization to match WWIE’s grant with funds from other sources. Activities supported by a WWIE grant must be charitable, educational or scientific in nature. All applicants selected to receive a grant must sign a grant agreement, which details the terms of the grant to be awarded. WWIE monitors grants through regular financial and narrative reports submitted by the grantee and periodic site visits by a WWIE representative or consultant. Monitoring is designed to ensure that the funds granted are being used for approved purposes and to see whether the grant is contributing to the goals of the grantee organization and WWIE. While we hope that our grantee organizations are able to carry out their intended programs successfully, WWIE understands that the work undertaken is challenging and that setbacks will occasionally occur. We want our monitoring process to encourage candid conversations about the progress of the program and whether there might be other strategies to get better results over the long term.

WWIE is now accepting requests for grant proposals in the areas listed on the "Program Areas" page.  Please complete the grant application and return it by mail or email (proposals@whenandwhereienter.org) no later than March 16, 2012.  Grants may range from US$500 to US$5,000.
